Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge is a story which deals with the importance of human relationships and traditional values. This film is popularly known as DDLJ. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge is considered as a classic Indian film which premiered on 19th October in the year 1995 and widely released all across the nation on 20th October in the year 1995.

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge is a Yash Raj film directed by Aditya Chopra starring Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Amrish Puri. This Yash Raj film went on to become one of the biggest hits in the Indian film industry. Being one of the popularly known Bollywood wedding movies, the record says Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge successfully completed 600 weeks of uninterrupted show in Maratha Mandir till April 2007. News says that Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge was ranked amongst the Top 25 Must See Bollywood Films by the Indiatimes Movies.

This movie has all sorts of emotions like comic interludes, romance, arrogance, fight and others. The story is about a stern father who believes in an arranged marriage. Both Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol sparkled in this film to give a new definition of romance to the youngsters. This film is considered as one of the most popular Bollywood films dealing with lifestyle of the NRI's. .

The characters of both Shahrukh Khan and Kajol named as Raj and Simran respectively in the movie are supposedly the second generation Indians who were brought up in London. Raj is the only son of a rich Indian father who loves him like anything and takes care of all his comforts. Whereas you will see Amrish Puri, father of Simran is a typical conservative Indian man who only dreams of returning to his homeland, India. Simran's father however feels proud to educate his daughters in a traditional way. As this film is all about emotions, you will find that Simran keeps dreaming of her dream boy who would come one day and would take her away in marriage. She even imagines about him and writes verses on him.

Unfortunately Simran's wedding was pre-arranged by her father with his best friend's son Kuljeet in their childhood. As Simran was born and brought up in a conservative family, she did not even dare to go against her father's decision. Instead she asks for permission from her father to go on a trip to Europe with her friends before marrying a complete stranger. On her trip to Europe, Simran comes across a handsome young man. This guy was none other than Raj who falls deeply in love with her and at the end of their trip, Simran also realizes the same.

As soon as this happened, Simran expresses her love towards Raj to her mother. Mistakenly it was overheard by Simran's father and he decides to leave for India as soon as possible and settle the marriage of Simran with Kuljeet. Simran's family returns to Punjab and starts preparing for her marriage. In the meantime Raj happens to contact Simran privately and ensures Simran, that he will help her out from this problem. With all his courageous deeds and disclosing Kuljeet's motive, he helped Simran's father to realize his mistake. The movie ends on a happy note with the union of Simran and Raj.
